Why is there a limitation on bitcoins message size. What is a comparison of 80 bytes, and how does Catenis eliminate this problem?
The Bitcoin protocol, was conceived to be a peer to peer cash system, and not a message transmission protocol. The 80 byte limitation in a bitcoin transaction, is by design. However, Second layer technologies, such as Catenis, the lightning network, etc. Can now overcome, many of bitcoins foundational limitations. Catenis uses, the bitcoin transaction, as a transmission control object, across the peer to peer network. We use this transaction, to deliver, a larger payload (such as documents, messages, etc.) to any and all destination end points.
